Geraldine (Gates) Kloss, 78, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at her home in New Whiteland.

She was born and raised in Indianapolis then moved to New Whiteland, where she has been a resident for 51 years.

Geraldine was born June 30, 1937, to Louie W. and Mary L. (Martin) Gates.

She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1955.

She was married to Paul F. Kloss for 40 years until his passing in 1996.

Geraldine was employed with Indiana Farm Bureau as an assistant underwriter, retiring in 1994 after 20 years of service.

She enjoyed doing hook rugs, reading history and mystery novels, and reading and studying the Bible. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include, two children, Gary L. Kloss and Kathy “Kate” Sheaff, both of New Whiteland; a sister, Shirley L. Allen of Indianapolis; a brother, Richard L. (Barbara) Gates of Indianapolis; a grandson, Kevin A. Sheaff of New Whiteland; many nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Mary Nevels and Mary Runyan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Paul Kloss.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
