Louis H. Freudenstein

FRANKLIN

Louis H. Freudenstein, 84, of Franklin, and a resident of the Franklin United Methodist Community, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was born July 6, 1931, in Ripley County to Louis H. Freudenstein Sr. and Violet (Lindsay) Freudenstein.

He married Norma J. (Willmann) Freudenstein on Oct. 9, 1954, in Hanover; and she preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2014.

He was a rate clerk and dispatcher for OK Trucking in Indianapolis for 38 years. He later worked for MegaSys in Greenwood as a dispatcher. He enjoyed spending winters with his late wife in Fort Myers, Florida.

He was a member of Gray Road Baptist Church in Indianapolis. He enjoyed spending time on his computer, was a Colts and Indiana University fan, and enjoyed watching racing, football and figure skating. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Freudenstein (Kathy) of Greenwood and Brent Freudenstein (Lynetta) of Indianapolis; a daughter, Rhonda Medsker (Quinn) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Luke Freudenstein, Lindsay Freudenstein, Chad Freudenstein (Ashley) and Corey Freudenstein (Jessica), all of Indianapolis, and Stephanie Duffy (Travis) of Arcadia; and four great-grandchildren, Bryston Duffy, Kinsley Duffy, Mya Freudenstein and Baby F.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Charles Freudenstein.

The Rev. Marion Glover will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shelby Christian Church Cemetery near Versailles, with burial to follow.
