Thomas Orville Draper

FRANKLIN

Thomas Orville Draper, 74, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015.

He was born July 13, 1941, in Kokomo, to Kenneth Hadley Draper and Florence Jeanette Graham.

In 1959, Tom graduated from North Central High School, where he played football and sang in two choral groups. He attended Ball State College and graduated from Boise State.

Tom is survived by two daughters, Dianna Draper and Susan Wallace (Jim); three grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Alex Wallace; two stepgrandchildren, Savanna and Mya Murphy; his wife, Karen; and former wife, Sherry.

Tom was a salesman and technical instructor. He traveled extensively, including 49 states (excluding only Rhode Island), each Canadian province and several European countries.

Tom was passionate about flying and earned his pilot’s license in 1963. He enjoyed flying Cessna planes and taking his family on trips.

Tom was a 52-year member of Centre Lodge No. 23, F&AM, and a member of Ransford IMH No. 605, Order of the Eastern Star.

A going home celebration will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Kresge Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home, 690 S. State St., Franklin. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at the chapel. A Masonic service will be conducted at the chapel. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
