Robert ‘Buck’ Lemley

EDINBURGH

Robert “Buck” Lemley, 73, of Edinburgh, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.

He was born April 18, 1942, in Edinburgh, to Ray Lemley and Mary Alma (Brown) Lemley.

He is survived by numerous cousins, including Deborah (Larry) Raufeisen of Edinburgh, and Max (Christine) Lemley, Linden “Pete” Lemley and Jinny (Gary) Owens, all of Columbus; and longtime friend, Terry (Pat) Robinholt of Edinburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He served in the U.S. Marines from April 16, 1966, to Feb. 28, 1969. He served in Vietnam, receiving several medals and awards.

He was a member of Edinburgh Community High School Class of 1960; Edinburgh Masonic Lodge No. 100; Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233; VFW Post No. 5584; and Military Order of the Purple Heart.

He was an avid car enthusiast.

He retired from GE in Shelbyville after 23 years of service.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eskew Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington.
