Marilyn Jean Lane

SANDUSKY, OHIO

Marilyn Jean Lane, 82, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, in Sandusky, Ohio. She was a former longtime resident of Greenwood.

She was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to William and Laura Naomi (Myers) Bowers. She married the Rev. Raymond Albert Lane Sr. on April 3, 1954.

Marilyn is survived by their children, Ray Lane Jr. (Cheri) of Franklin, Greg Lane (Cindi) of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Dianne Kane (Dave) of Sandusky, Ohio, Debbie Wright (Steve) of Bedford and David Lane (Beth) of Salem. Also surviving are three brothers, Willard Bowers of Dewey, Arizona, Larry Bowers (Mary Ann) of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Homer Bowers (Joyce) of Toronto, Ohio; 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Ray; and sister, Donna.

She was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio.

Marilyn was an insurance sales agent for Bama Insurance, retiring in 2009.

She was a member of Indianapolis Baptist Temple.

She was an avid sports fan.

The Revs. Lyman Taylor, Greg Dixon Jr. and Gary Eno will conduct a celebration of Marilyn’s life at 11 a.m. Friday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at First Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
