Proceeds from concert to help victims of domestic violence

Young Voices of Indianapolis will offer its 10th anniversary holiday concert Saturday at the University of Indianapolis.

The concert will start at 7 p.m. at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts building.

The evening will feature the YVI Concert, Encore, Preparatory, Cherub and Alumni choirs and a chamber orchestra of professional instrumentalists performing favorite Christmas music including “God Bless Us Everyone” from “A Christmas Carol,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.”

A portion of the proceeds will go to the choir’s partner organization, the Julian Center, a support center for victims of domestic violence. Donation boxes will be available for patrons who wish to contribute essential items to the center. Among the most urgently needed are large women’s clothing, baby bottles, bedding, towels and washcloths, coats, boots, socks and underwear.

Tickets are $20 for adult general admission and $15 for students 12 and younger and may be purchased at the door or online at brownpapertickets.com/event/2466625.
