GREENWOOD
Mary Louise Jones, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015. She was a longtime resident of Greenwood.
She was born March 27, 1932, in Linton to Van C. and Freeda (Sparks) Hall.
She married Jackie L. Jones on Dec. 31, 1952, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 2003.
Mrs. Jones retired from Johnson County government in 1997 after 17 years but continued working there part time for several more years. She also was a licensed real estate broker since 1970.
Survivors include a son, John (Shannon) Jones of Indianapolis; a daughter, Anna (Terry) Self of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Ashley Jones of Indianapolis, and Chandler Jones and Taylor Self, both of Greenwood; five stepgrandchildren, Vincent Coleman, Tyriek Coleman, DeVante Coleman, Jibril Shamsid-Deen and Curran Shamsid-Deen; and two great-stepgrandchildren; a brother, William L. Hall of Florida; two sisters, Nancy A. (Buck) Stinnett of Brookston and Donna M. (Joe) Fish of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert E. Hall; and a son, James L. Jones.
Pastor G.E. Studdard will officiate a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood Chapel. Calling hours will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
