Bobby G. Roland, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2015, at his home in Brown County.
He was born May 6, 1940, in Grant County, to the late Clarence F. and Cladine (Race) Roland.
Bobby attended school in Mason County, Kentucky, and went on to marry Elnora Wright on Dec. 15, 1957, in Owen County, Kentucky.
He retired in 1985 as a truck driver for Preston Trucking Co. in Indianapolis after nine years of service. Prior to that, he held the same position with McLean Trucking in Indianapolis for 22 years. Bobby attended the Neighborhood Church of God in Brown County for 25 years and enjoyed woodworking, camping and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora Roland; children, Sherry (Damon) Davis of Indianapolis, Jackie (Donetta) Motley of Sedalia and William Rick (Teena) Roland of Greenwood; siblings, Aline (Bob) Kenney, Georgetta (Larry) Duncan, Vickie Adams, Dorann Griffith, Sue Perkins and Billy Roland, all of Kentucky, Betty Jo Roland of Florida and Buford Roland of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by two siblings, Norma Kerns and Blaine Roland.
The Rev. Jim Albertson will conduct a funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. A funeral service also will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at McDaniel Funeral Home, 440 Old Corinth-Owenton Road in Corinth, Kentucky. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Kentucky funeral home. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Keefer, Kentucky.
