Margaret Helen “Pinky” (Colson) McClellan

GREENWOOD

Margaret Helen “Pinky” (Colson) McClellan, 81, passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, in Greenwood. She was a resident of Greenwood.

She was born on Aug. 8, 1934, in Scottsville, Kentucky to Jack and Pearl Colson.

Pinky was a homemaker.

She loved bowling and was an avid flower gardener. She was the ultimate host and party planner for her family gathering events and pool parties.

She was a lifelong member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

Survivors include three children, Deb (Mark) Carter of Beech Grove, Mark (Donna) McClellan and Wendy (Phil Martin) McClellan both of Greenwood; sister, Barbara Fogleman, two brothers, Jack “Jay” (Marty) Colson Jr. and Darryl Colson; five grandchildren, Ben Carter, Whitney (Drew) Young, Chelsea McClellan, Marci McClellan and Carly Carter; and a great-grandchild, Carter Young.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles “Mac” McClellan; and two sisters, Opal Cheslyn and Dean Long.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 222 E. Epler Ave., Indianapolis, with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel.
