James Richard “Dick” Rynerson

FRANKLIN

James Richard “Dick” Rynerson, 82, peacefully entered heaven on Dec. 11, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin.

He was born on May 4, 1933, in Franklin to Albert and Edith (VerBrek) Rynerson.

He married Janet (Sandbach) Rynerson on Oct. 11, 1952. She lovingly survives. Dick is also survived by two sons, Steve (Carol) Rynerson of Franklin and Dan (Kathy) Rynerson of Franklin. Also surviving are grandchildren, David Rynerson, Stephanie (Mikel) Inabnit, Brad (Lauren) Rynerson, Chris Rynerson and Brett Rynerson; and great-grandchildren, Devan Rynerson, Oliver Inabnit and Dani Lynn Rynerson.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; brothers, Vernon “Bubby” Rynerson and Albert “Jr.” Rynerson, and sister, Delores Collier.

Dick was a 1952 graduate of Franklin Community High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a corporal and served as a medic in the Korean War.

He retired from Eli Lilly & Co. in 1993.

Dick was a devoted lifelong member and elder emeritus of Tabernacle Christian Church. He was a life member of the American Legion.

Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid sports fan.

Revs. Evie Stuard and Bill Horner will conduct a celebration of Dick’s life at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Christian Church, 198 N. Water St., Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Dick will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205 in Franklin and the U.S. Army.
