Kurt Michael Stanley

Kurt Michael Stanley, 45, of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015.

Kurt was born Sept. 7, 1970, in Greenwood, to Jack and Jody Stanley in Greenwood.

He graduated for Indiana University with a degree in microbiology. Kurt later studied at the Le Cordon Bleu, in Paris, France, where he earned diplomas in cooking and pastry.

After returning to the states, he earned his master’s degree in education from Marian University. Kurt later became a science teacher at Emma Donnan Middle School and Emmerich Manual High School, and most recently taught chemistry and biology at Cardinal Ritter High School.

Kurt was an active member of Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church. Kurt had a great passion for teaching and cooking.

Kurt was a loving husband and proud father.

Kurt leaves behind his wife of 16 years, Gwenaelle; son, Tristan; sister, Nicole (Kevin) Mitchell; brother, Kyle; nieces, Jacquelyn Mitchell and Lea Carn; nephews, Colten (Brittany) Mitchell, Victor Carn, Adrien Carn and Johann Carn.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jody.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Monday at Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood, IN, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
