Charles ‘Jack’ Dwigans

Charles “Jack” Dwigans, 83, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015.

He was born on May 5, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Ralph E. and Thelma Irene Dwigans.

Jack was an U.S. Army veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service during the Korean conflict.

He always enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was great at archery, and most important he was a wonderful grandfather.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth (Kimberly) Dwigans of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Benjamin J. Taylor, and Kenneth and Azia Dwigans; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jennie L. Allen and Wilma Sue Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Dwigans; his daughter, Victory Storey of Bargersville; and two brothers, Jerry Dwigans and Ted Dwigans.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday prior to the service at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135.
