Alberta Carter Fulford-McDaniel-Janik

INDIANAPOLIS

Alberta Carter Fulford-McDaniel-Janik, 82, of Indianapolis, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.

Alberta was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Indianapolis, to James W. and Thelma F. (Patterson) Carter.

She was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

Alberta worked at Western Electric for 30-plus years as a press operator.

She was an avid reader who loved fishing, painting and country music.

Alberta was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Greenwood Moose Lodge.

She was much loved and will be missed by many people.

Alberta is survived by her son, Thomas D. (Betsy) McDaniel of Shelbyville; daughters, Glenna F. (Larry) Henninger of Martinsville and Tonda K. (Tim) Bridges, of Paragon; brother, James (Bonnie) Carter, of High Point, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Alva Fulford, Charles “Tom” McDaniel and Rudolph “Ronnie” Janik; twin brother, Alfred Carter; brothers Larry Carter and John Mason; and sisters, Darlene Carter-Hall, Elois Cannon-Baker and Marquetta Cannon-Handy.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
