WHITELAND
Nettie “Jett” Backhoff, 81, went to be with God’s angels on Dec. 1, 2015. She was a Whiteland resident.
Jett was born in Linton on June 22, 1934, to her parents, Martin and Pauline (Jarmin) Strouse.
Jett was the proprietor of Victorian House and Gardens in Whiteland for 35 years.
She loved gardening, antiques and shabby chic.
Jett’s survivors include her sister, Delorse Dalton; daughters, Yvonne Schapson, Diana Coomer and Darla Mack; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.Â
