Margarete Emma ‘Marti’ Wilson

GREENWOOD

Margarete Emma “Marti” Wilson, 86, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Margarete was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Graslitz, Silberbach, Germany, now Czech Republic, to Ludwig and Agnes (Busch) Ernstberger.

She graduated from high school in Germany and married Willie T. Wilson in Germany on Oct. 30, 1948. Willie preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2012.

Marti was a homemaker who loved music, crocheting, knitting and making clothes for her children when they were younger. She also worked for a few years at Kingan Meats, which later was bought by Ballpark Franks.

She and Willie also were members of the Greenwood V.F.W. and the Greenwood Moose Lodge.

She leaves behind her loving son, Ralph (Leslie) Wilson of Mooresville; daughter, Jolantha Moody of Greenwood; grandchildren, Angie Moody of Indianapolis, Tory (Stephanie) Taylor of New Whiteland, Bryon (Sandy) Wilson of Indianapolis, Ross Wilson of Mooresville and Jenna Wilson of Camby; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Visitation will be from noon until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
