Jazz up your holiday season

Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra will swing into the season with a special yuletide concert.

The group’s Big Band Christmas show will start at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Jazz Kitchen, 5377 N. College Ave., Indianapolis.

Dedicated fans of big band music and the Great American Songbook will not want to miss the show, which will include popular holiday music classics. The show will consist of the best-known sacred and secular Christmas tunes. All songs will be presented through world-class musical arrangements based on the best of the big band repertoire.

Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra also will re-create legendary Christmas arrangements as originally performed by the Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Stan Kenton orchestras.

The cover charge for the performance is $15, advance seating reservations are recommended.
