Johnson County Public Library is taking the idea of a traditional library book club and adding a special ingredient to the discussion — adult beverages.
Stout Stories is a book club for adults 21 and older that will meet at breweries and wineries starting this month. The first meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Taxman Brewing Co., 13 S. Baldwin St., Bargersville.
The first book selection is “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash” by
Jean Shepherd, on which the classic holiday movie “A Christmas Story” is based and in which Shepherd serves as narrator. The discussion is planned to include great food, drinks and comfortable atmosphere.
Library organizers request that participants read and drink responsibly. Seating is limited and registration is required.
