Phyllis M. Halterman of Greenwood passed away at age 96 on Oct. 31, 2015.
Those of us who knew her truly envied her zest for life. She was dedicated to physical fitness and her love for dance of any kind. She had an amazing talent for gardening and was unbelievably creative in a variety of arts and crafts, having the uncanny ability of creating beauty out of nothing! But most of all, Phyllis was devoted to her family.
She was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Rose and Phillip Mahoney. Phyllis lived in Fort Wayne for 25 years before locating to Greenwood in 1990.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Sr; a son, Joseph D. Jr.; and a daughter, JoAnn (Jodi) M. Meyer.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter and spouse, Cletia and John Bowron of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter, Allison Meyer; grandson and spouse, Nickolas and Amber Meyer of Mokena, Illinois; granddaughter and spouse, Judy and Ken Parrott; and great-grandchildren, Ryela and Reagan Meyer and Kera and Kathryn Parrott.
Phyllis’ feisty spirit will love on!
