Trojan fans are rushing to local apparel shops to get customized Center Grove gear before the state finals.
Since the Center Grove football team earned its spot in this weekend’s state finals, about 50 residents have come into Greenwood apparel shop Bleacher FanZ to purchase Trojan merchandise, owner Dawn Hoffman said.
After hearing from customers that coach Eric Moore asked the student section to wear red to Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, T-shirt design and apparel store Coffey Connection designed a new shirt for the state finals.
The design includes two state outlines with a helmet and the Center Grove logo, said Coffey Connection manager Chana Stiemert. The new design, which was finished Wednesday, will be white text on a red short-sleeved shirt. Employees are printing the shirts in advance, but do not know how many they will make yet.
Both Bleacher FanZ and Coffey Connection will be open today and Saturday to get last-minute spirit gear for fans, they said. So far, Bleacher FanZ has sold everything from sunglasses to scarves to sweatshirts for Center Grove residents, Hoffman said.
Personalized gear can still be ordered at Bleacher FanZ through Saturday, as long as customers have about 30 minutes to wait while the apparel is customized, Hoffman said.
