Margaret Lynn Campton, 90, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at her residence with her family at her side.

She was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Kentucky to Jason and Della (Lynn) Statom.

Margaret married William Campton; and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2010.

A devout Christian for her whole life, Margaret also loved to write poetry. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and playing guitar.

She was kind and sweet and will be missed by all who know and love her.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn Stout and Lois (Don) Bailey, both of Greenwood, and Lesa (Doug) Shepherd of Franklin; a brother, Eugene (Lois) Statom of Greenwood; six sisters, Christine Coffman, Juanita Murphy, Lucy (Jimmy) Reed, Carolyn (Bobby) Pruitt and Peggy (Paul) Reed, all of Greenwood, and Jewell Whitis of Stanford, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David Campton; a brother, Jerry Statom; brothers-in-law, Ernest Coffman, Kenneth Murphy and Bobby Whitis; and two sisters, Evelyn Dawson, and her husband, Harley, and Trudie Clark and her husband, Newell.

Private funeral services will be conducted at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
