County Republican Party seeking new leader

The Johnson County Republican Party is seeking a new leader.

Chairwoman Sandi Huddleston is retiring after five years leading the local Republican Party. Huddleston said she wants to spend more time with her family, including relatives in Florida and Texas.

Now, the party will meet to name a new leader.

On Monday, Republican precinct committee members will meet in a caucus to name a new Republican Party chairman. Until then, Jeff Colvin is serving as acting chairman. The caucus will be at 7 p.m. at Beeson Hall, 396 Branigin Blvd, Franklin.

Anyone interested in serving as the chairperson of the party must submit a letter to party secretary Anne McGuinness, at 1885 Hillside Drive, Franklin, and Indiana Republican Party Secretary Barb McClellan, at 101 W. Ohio St., Suite 2200, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

Letters must be received by 7 p.m. Friday, or 72 hours before the caucus.
