GREENWOOD
Clara M. (Miller) Jones-Baxter, 86, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at her home in Greenwood.
Clara was born April 4, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Ernest C. Miller and Dorothy B. (Sears) McGowen. She married John M. “Jack” Baxter on Nov. 21, 1987, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2013.
Clara was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.
She was employed as a waitress at the Fireside Inn South in Indianapolis for 27 years. Clara enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Greenwood, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Whiteland and the American Legion Post 252 in Greenwood.
Clara will be missed by her daughter, Michelle Rae Jones of Greenwood; son, Mike Jones of Plainfield; grandchildren, Michael and Robert Risinger; two great-grandchildren, Lauryn and Mara Risinger; stepchildren, Barbara Jean Songer, Mary Jane Carrico, and John M. and Jeffery Wayne Baxter; and cousin, Norman Sullivan.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jack.
Clara’s wishes were to be cremated.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
