Bonnie F. Pottschmidt

FRANKLIN

Bonnie F. Pottschmidt, 74, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the Franklin United Methodist Community.

She was born Nov. 8, 1941, in Franklin, to John Hugh “Ike” and Ruth (Branigin) Ballard.

She married Roy W. Pottschmidt at Concordia Lutheran Church in Greenwood on Aug. 28, 1960; he survives.

She was a 1960 graduate of Franklin High School.

Through her life, Bonnie worked for the State of Indiana Tax Division, Mr. D’s Food Market in Whiteland, Endress+Hauser in Greenwood and, for the last 15 years, at Girls Inc. in Franklin as a librarian.

She loved nature, poems, children’s stories and teaching them to the girls, a job she enjoyed very much.

While her children were growing up, Bonnie was a stay-at-home-mom to be with her kids during their formative years. She helped her husband around the farm with livestock and put a lot of time teaching their kids about their 4-H projects.

Bonnie’s passing has been a great loss to all of her family and friends who look forward to meeting with her in her library in the heavens someday.

Survivors include her husband, Roy W. Pottschmidt of Franklin; daughter, Rhonda DeWitt of Franklin; son, Bill Pottschmidt (Jennifer) of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Mary Jane DeWitt of Franklin, and Reed, Mataya, Mariah and Malayna Pottschmidt, all of Fishers; two sisters, Mary Louise (Dick) Judy of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and Sara (Stanley) Earles of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Charlotte Wyatt of Nashville, Indiana.

The Rev. David Mark Owens will conduct a service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the mortuary.
