Recycling district sets shred, disposal event

Johnson County residents can shred documents, recycle electronics and dispose of household chemicals Nov. 14.

Electronics and documents can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon at the county’s recycling district offices, 900 Arvin Road, Suite A, Franklin.

Televisions and monitors will not be accepted.

The event helps mark America Recycles Day and is a partnership between the Johnson County Recycling District and Shares Inc. of Shelbyville.

On the same day, the Johnson County Tox Box will be open from 9 a.m. to noon at 1051 Hospital Road, Franklin. No latex paint or alkaline batteries will be accepted.

This event is for Johnson County residents only.

The Tox Box will be closed from Nov. 30 to Jan. 31. It will reopen Feb. 1 weather permitting.
