A culinary fundraiser benefiting senior citizens and others with special needs in the county will feature area restaurants’ best treats and signature cuisines.
Johnson County Senior Services, Gateway Services and Access Johnson County Public Transit will present Foodie Fest & Cakes for a Cause 2015 on Nov. 12 at the Johnson County National Guard Armory in Franklin.
Attendees will enjoy music throughout the evening. The highlights will be silent and live cake auctions and Sweet Victory baking competition. Five bakers will be treating guests to tempting sweets in hopes of winning the Golden Whisk Award.
All ticket holders will receive tasting tickets and a ballot; the baker who garners the most votes takes the prize.
The event will be 4 to 7 p.m.
