LaVerne Morris

INDIANAPOLIS

LaVerne Morris, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015.

She was born May 27, 1945, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to the late Estel and Bertha (Retherford) Greenfield.

LaVerne was married to Rex Morris on Feb. 9, 1968, in Indianapolis.

She was a member of The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn and the Red Hat Society.

Laverne was a family lady and homemaker who enjoyed caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.

LaVerne is survived by her husband, Rex Morris; daughters, Joy Morris and Faith (Shane) Pilon; son, Shawn (Rebekah) Morris; sister, Violet (Jim) Clark; brothers, Hurbert, Buford, Donnie (Hope) and Ronnie (DeLynn) Greenfield; grandchildren, Bryant (Emily), Marc, Maya, Clark, Tyee, Sabrea, Aaron, Asa, Micah, Luke and Elijah Morris, and Jacqueline, Jake and Emma Pilon; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; and sisters, Coleen Quinn and Marilyn Greenfield.

The funeral service will be at 6 p.m. today at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time today at the mortuary.
