Study Connection honored for helping students

A local nonprofit organization that is dedicated to tutoring and helping students has won a statewide service award.

Study Connection was awarded a Serve Indiana Award in the Nonprofit Volunteer Program division in Indianapolis for their efforts in increasing student achievement.

The program started with 46 students in 2006 as a partnership among the Franklin Education Connection, Franklin Community Schools, Franklin College and other community volunteers who tutor students.

Volunteers now help 115 students in second through sixth grade with tutoring and mentoring.
