Police arrest women on charges of pointing gun

A woman was arrested after two men reported she pointed a gun at them in a Center Grove area neighborhood.

Chrys Lynn Wimmer, 56, 12927 Longleaf Lane, Fishers, was arrested on charges of pointing a firearm, carrying an unlawful handgun and possession of cocaine.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, a man called police and said he was following the vehicle of a woman who had put something on the porch of a home in Critchfield, off State Road 135, south of Smith Valley Road, and pointed a gun at him when he confronted her.

A sheriff’s deputy stopped the vehicle Wimmer was driving and found a jammed handgun in the front seat, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Wimmer told police she went to the home to play a prank on someone she went to school with, and became nervous when she was confronted and pulled out the gun, which was given to her by a friend for protection, the report said. She did not have a permit to carry the gun.

On Oct. 26, the resident of the same home in the 3300 block of Stella Drive reported someone had fired a gun into his truck, and he suspected it was done by someone who knew his ex-girlfriend, the report said.

Wimmer told police she had not fired the gun at the vehicle. Police are testing the bullet found to compare with the gun Wimmer had, the report said.

Deputies also found a bottle with a white powder that tested positive for cocaine inside Wimmer’s vehicle during the traffic stop Saturday. Wimmer told police the bottle wasn’t hers, the report said.

Wimmer was released on $18,200 bond.
