Thomas ‘Tom’ Sims

Thomas “Tom” Sims, 85, of Greenwood passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.

He was born to the late Samuel and Gladys Kidwell Sims on Feb. 13, 1930, in Taylorsville, Illinois.

Tom owned and operated Sims Machine & Engineering Inc., and he retired from Keystone Engineering at the age of 81. He was an avid bowler and was a charter member of a local Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jaunita Sims; children, Charles T. Sims (Elizabeth), Christina A. Wagner (Mark), Gregory Sims (Tom) and Jeffry A. Sims (Tonya); three sisters, Regina Bradley, Corene Minton and Betty Sue Milliner; three brothers, Murrell, Jerry and Sherrell Sims; six grandchildren, Brett, Douglas, Lindsay, Nikki, Alicia and A.J.; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood.
