Rolling roadblocks, lane shifts coming to I-65

If you plan to drive on Interstate 65 this weekend, expect some slowdowns and closures.

On Saturday, the southbound side of I-65 will close between Franklin and Edinburgh while workers move construction materials. Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane on the other side of the highway, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

And on Sunday morning, motorists should be prepared for slowdowns in traffic.

Crews will be installing new power lines between Whiteland Road and Keystone Avenue on the southside. Workers will use rolling roadblocks, where traffic is slowed to 10 mph, to have 20-minute time blocks with no traffic on the interstate, according to a news release.

Between slowdowns, lanes will also be closed, the release said.

The slowdowns will be done between 6 and 9 a.m. Sunday and again on Nov. 8.
