Break-in reported in Center Grove area

Police are looking for a yellow car with racing stripes after a break-in at a Center Grove area home.

A resident in the Old Smith Valley area called police at 9 p.m. Wednesday when he came home and found his television broken in his driveway. He then saw the glass was broken on the back door of his home in the 900 block of South Runyon Road, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The man found that a gun, jewelry, video game consoles and games had been stolen from the home, the report said.

A neighbor told police that he had seen a yellow Chevrolet Cavalier, with silver racing stripes back up to the garage that afternoon, the report said.

Police are investigating the break-in and called an evidence technician to look for any evidence at the scene.
