EDINBURGH
Boyd N. Mitchell, 58, of Edinburgh, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at his residence.
He was born May 12, 1957, in Shelbyville, to James R. Mitchell and Sue Ann (Kanouse) Mitchell. He married Cheryl (Merideth) on June 28, 1980; and she survives.
He also is survived by his mother, Sue Ann Mitchell, Edinburgh; a son, Jarad (Amber) Mitchell of Edinburgh; three sisters, Donna Oberson of Liberty, Kentucky, and Shirley (Phillip) Brown and Dianne (Chris) England, both of Taylorsville; and two grandchildren, Brady and Aiden Mitchell.
He was preceded by his father; and two brothers, Bruce Mitchell and Mark Mitchell.
He graduated from Edinburgh Community High School in 1975. He was a member of Faith Victory Church in Columbus and Operators Union Local No. 103. He was employed as heavy equipment operator for Poindexter’s.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and taking part in four-wheel drive jamborees.
The Rev. Mark Owings will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
