United Way collecting coats for families in need

An annual coat drive for needy families needs more donations.

Johnson County residents have two more days to donate gently used coats to the United Way for Operation Bundle Up, an annual event that gives to coats to children and families in need.

The United Way of Johnson County extended its annual collection drive through tomorrow with the hope of collecting as many as 700 additional coats.

Residents can drop off gently used coats at any Horizon Bank branch or the United Way of Johnson County, located at 460 N. Morton St. in Franklin.

Coats must have all buttons and zippers intact and cannot be torn or ripped or stained.

Coats will be distributed from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Turning Point Church, 3600 N. Morton St. in Franklin.
