Ambulatory services group leader named

Christopher A. DiGiusto has been appointed vice president of ambulatory services for Franciscan Alliance.

In his new role, DiGiusto will direct Franciscan Alliance’s retail sites and ambulatory services, urgent care and occupational health sites; assist with direct-to-consumer engagement; and develop and oversee of all telehealth platforms and services.

DiGiusto will report to Robert J. Brody, senior vice president and chief operating officer for ambulatory services for Franciscan Alliance.

Since 2009, DiGiusto was the service line director for orthopedics, neurosciences and rehabilitation for Franciscan St. Francis Health, where he was responsible for strategic growth at the hospital’s three campuses. During that time, he led many initiatives, including telemedicine services and spearheaded the development of sports medicine agreements with several school systems throughout central Indiana.

DiGiusto has held many positions with Franciscan St. Francis Health since joining the organization in 2003. He has served as director of product and business development and manager of business development. He also was a project team leader for information technology implementation.

An Indianapolis resident, DiGiusto received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, where he later earned a master’s degree in health services.

DiGiusto is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and has leadership roles with the Indiana Healthcare Executive Network.

Heating, cooling firm joins forces with plumber

Johnson Heating and Cooling and Kellie Plumbing recently merged into one company.

During a celebration Oct. 6, Franklin mayor Joe McGuinness, the Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce joined company representatives to celebrate a ribbon cutting and open house.

The event was well attended by many local businesses, members of the both chambers and members of the community.

Business referral group to host visitors event

Business referral group BNI’s local Nothing But Net chapter will host a visitors day on Nov. 12 at Logan’s Roadhouse in Greenwood.

The event will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the restaurant, 600 N. Greenwood Park Drive.

BNI is a worldwide business referral organization with more than 4,200 chapters operating in 31 countries. It has 2,000 members in Indiana. Nothing But Net, based in Greenwood, has passed over $508,000 worth of business this year, according to a statement from the company

Pottery studio celebrates opening

uPaint Pottery Studio recently celebrated the opening of its Greenwood location at Smith Valley Road and State Road 135 with a ribbon cutting and refreshments.

uPaint Pottery Studio is a walk-in, paint-your-own-pottery studio located at 3113 W. Smith Valley Road. Customers select their choice of pottery and staff will offer assistance in finishing the item.

All ages are welcome to create a project at the store; no reservations are needed. Classes in pottery painting and glass fusing are offered monthly at the studio.

Nurse appointed patient safety director

Julie A. Glover, a registered nurse, has been appointed director of patient safety for Franciscan St. Francis Health.

In that role, Glover will oversee all patient safety programs at Franciscan St. Francis Health’s three hospitals and work close with clinical and administrative leadership on related issues. She most recently served as quality manager.

Glover has worked in the Indianapolis health-care industry for more than two decades as a nurse and educator.

An Indianapolis resident, Glover received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Indiana University, where she later earned a master’s degree in nursing. She currently is enrolled in the adult/gerontology nurse practitioner program at IU.

Glover is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.

Credit union golf event raises money for charity

Financial Center’s 17th annual charity golf outing raised more than $21,500 for charity. The outing hosted 115 Credit Union vendors, members and employees.

Proceeds from the outing were divided among multiple organizations that focus on financial literacy, feeding the hungry and supporting the military and their families.

In addition to providing financial support, Financial Center employees also donate volunteer hours to these organizations.

Commercial staffing specialist named

Greenwood-based Express Employment Professionals has named Jamie Green a new employment specialist for commercial staffing. In her new position, Green will work with local applicants by trying to place them in positions offered by our client companies.

Green graduated from Franklin College with a major in history and a minor in journalism. She grew up in the Franklin area enjoying outdoor activities such as camping. Outside the office, Green loves being involved in her church and staying active with her children.
