Intruder in Franklin home confronted, runs away

A man confronted an intruder in a Franklin home, who came inside while a resident was taking a bath.

Police searched for but did not find the man who ran from the home in the first block of West Street just after 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Franklin Police Department report.

A man reported he came to the home and found another man in the kitchen he did not know. He asked the intruder who he was, and the man ran past him, bumping his shoulder, and then ran out the front door, the report said.

While this was going on, a woman was taking a bath in the home, the report said.

Another resident suspected the man likely got in through an unlocked door. Nothing was missing from the home, but the freezer door was open, the report said.

Officers and a police dog searched the area but were not able to find the suspect, the report said.
