Tips needed for car break-in, credit card fraud

Greenwood police are searching for a car that could lead them to thieves who stole a purse and credit cards.

On Sept. 26, a gold Mercury Grand Marquis with tinted windows and chrome rims was seen on surveillance footage leaving the parking lot of the Walgreen’s on State Road 135 and County Line Road where a vehicle break-in occurred.

The vehicle parked next to an unoccupied car and more than one person got out of the Grand Marquis, punched the window out of the unoccupied car and stole a purse, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana.

The victim’s credit cards were later used at a gas station on State Road 135, according to the report.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or its owner is asked to call the Greenwood Police Department or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
