Teens involved in Bargersville car crash

Five teens and a 21-year-old man were injured Friday in an accident near Bargersville.

One person in the vehicle was taken by medical helicopter to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, Sheriff Doug Cox said.

The sheriff’s office is not releasing the names of the teens involved in the accident.

The vehicle was being driven by a 17-year-old Franklin teen. Just before 8:30 p.m. Friday, the teen was driving on County Road 100N and attempted to turn left onto County Road 575W, lost control and went off the road, according to the accident report.

The vehicle hit the guide wires of a utility pole, rolled and then stopped against the pole, the report said.

Police are investigating the accident, and speed could have been a factor, Cox said.

Four other teens in the vehicle, a 13-year-old, a 14-year-old, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, who is from Bargersville, were also injured in the crash. The teens had injuries ranging from bruising to bleeding, the report said.

One adult, Nicholas Anthony, 21, was in the car and also complained of bleeding. Police do not have an address for Anthony, Cox said.
