Harold E. Beaty

FRANKLIN

Elder Harold E. Beaty, 82, went home to be with God, departing his residence here on Earth on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born Oct. 9, 1933, in Liberty, Kentucky, to Elzy and Marie (Douglas) Beaty. He was born second out of eight children; and three survive him, Ernest, Leonard and Jack, all of Greenwood.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and Clifford, Arvil, Johnny and Mary Luttrell.

He married Hazel Langford on Oct. 1, 1955. They just celebrated 60 years together. She survives.

Between them they had five children, Bonnie McTarsney, Susan Crutcher and Steve Beaty, all of Franklin, Connie Johnson of Florida and Thomas Beaty of North Carolina. Twelve grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

Harold retired from ArvinMeritor after 30 years of service.

He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin. He enjoyed CB radios back in the day, known as “Mule Driver KIZO724,” and banging up cars at the yearly demolition derby, where he was titled “Ole Man Beaty.” But what he enjoyed most was playing music, singing and preaching for the Lord.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 1400 Graham Road, Franklin. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
