Man, woman arrested on prostitution, drug charges

A man and woman were arrested after they met and exchanged money for sex and used narcotics at a hotel, police said.

Andrew Sanders, 52, 7350 Tucker Road, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and patronizing a prostitute.

Rhea Davis, 24, 3090 N. Morton St., Lot 124, Franklin, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and prostitution when Franklin police found her and Sanders in a hotel room Oct. 9.

A friend of Davis’ told a police officer who was patrolling the hotel parking lot he was concerned that Davis was being taken advantage of inside a hotel room, according to the police report.

When police went to the hotel door, it took almost eight minutes before Sanders allowed them to enter the room, according to the report. In the hotel room, police found drug paraphernalia used for heroin and crystal meth, according to the report.

Sanders told police he had paid Davis $50 for sex but told police he had met up with her before and the $50 was really just to help her out and not for sex, according to the report.

Davis told police Sanders gave her $50 but didn’t confirm whether it was for sex.

Davis and Sanders were booked into Johnson County jail, where Davis was being held on a $4,400 bond and Sanders was being held on a $3,200 bond.
