College play explores magical memories

The Franklin College Theatre Department will open the 2015-16 season with a family-friendly play, “Still Life With Iris,” which continues through Sunday at the Théâtre Margot.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The fantasy drama follows a little girl named Iris who lives with her mother in a magical land in which memories are kept in coats. The rulers of Nocturno take Iris away from her home and to return, Iris must use a button from her coat as a clue to find her way back home. Along the way she encounters Annabel Lee, a young woman from the sea, and a character named Mozart.

Nicolas Crisafulli, professor of fine arts and theater at Franklin College, will direct the play.

General admission for each performance is $12. Admission for each performance is $8 for students and seniors (55 and older). Franklin College students, faculty and staff are admitted free with a valid Franklin College ID.
