Joseph David Sievertson

FRANKLIN

Joseph David Sievertson Sr., 69, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at his residence in Franklin.

He was born Sept. 18, 1946, in Franklin to Paul Albert Sievertson and Eleanor Louise (McCaslin) Sievertson. David married Rita E. Denney on July 16, 1967. She lovingly survives.

Also surviving are sons, J.D. (Nicola) Sievertson of Burbank, California, and Jeff (Amanda) Sievertson of Franklin; two granddaughters, Sydney and Whitney; one grandson, Ronan; one brother, Jon Sievertson of Benton, Kentucky; and one sister, Eloise Taylor of Greenwood.

He was preceded in passing by one brother, Paul Sievertson Jr.; and one sister, Leona Mae Burton.

David was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School.

He owned and operated Sievertson Delivery Service Inc. for 15 years. He later was employed by the Johnson County Highway Department, retiring in 2012.

He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. David loved to dance and sing like no one was watching.

The Rev. Brad Moger will conduct a celebration of David’s life at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 W. County Road 100N, Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
