Darcy Ann Hickman-Harris

INDIANAPOLIS

Darcy Ann Hickman-Harris has gone to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at the age of 50, at her home in Indianapolis.

She was born June 1, 1965, in Franklin to Harold E. Hickman and Judy Partenheimer Hickman-Cummings.

She is survived by her mother, Judy Partenheimer Hickman-Cummings; son, Brian Keith Harris; partner in life, Heath Adam Gooding; niece, Jessica Lea Hickman of Atascosita, Texas; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and  stepfather, Dan A. Cummings. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rollia and Gladys (Wright) Partenheimer; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Marion (Rice) Hickman; two brothers, Brian Keith Hickman and Todd James Hickman; aunt, Eva (Partenheimer) Beard; and cousins, Larry Keith Beard and Mary Catherine Webb.

She was a graduate of Spring High School, Spring, Texas, in May 1963. She also graduated magna cum laude from the National Education Center with a degree in medical assisting July 25, 1987. She received many awards during her achievement as a medical assistant, including the National Honor Society and several Instructors’ Honor Roll certificates. She also was honored by Eli Lilly and Co. with her Continuing Education Certificate for completing a course in “Practical Aspects of Diabetes Management in a Clinical Practice” on Oct. 6, 1987.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin.

The Rev. Dan McCollough will conduct a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1540 N. County Road 800E, Franklin, north of State Road 44 east of Franklin. She will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, beside her two brothers.
