GREENWOOD
Drexel H. Martin, 90, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2015.
He was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Scottsville, Kentucky, to the late Bennie and Lexi Crabtree Martin. Drexel and Nettie Ree were married 69 years; and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Virginia Martin of Greenwood; grandson, Michael Rigney of Brown County; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, gardening, playing his guitar and listening to gospel music.
Drexel was a machinist for 21 years at Thomas Green, retiring in 1991. His memberships include GracePoint Church, Southport Lodge No. 270 F&AM, Southport Chapter No. 442 Order Eastern Star (worthy patron, two terms) and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center,7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. A Masonic memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
