Barbara Gabriel Lacefield

Barbara Gabriel Lacefield, 62, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.

Barb loved to collect vintage treasures and spent many weekends searching for perfect items to display in her lovely home. She was an avid reader, having learned to read at age 3. She loved to travel with her husband and especially loved catching up with family.

Barb was the daughter of Leona Payne Fisher and Jesse Taylor Fisher from Knox County, Kentucky. At an early age, upon the death of her parents, she became a member of the household of her loving sister, Dorothy Campbell, and grew up alongside siblings, Debbie, Judy and Billy Campbell.

Barb is survived by her husband, Vern Lacefield; stepdaughter, Brandi; grandson, Olsen; and Vern’s parents, Marilyn and Vernie Parton. She also is survived by her loving siblings, Eugene (Frances) Fisher, Jessie (Walter) Morgan, Maude Lockard, Jerry (Allyce) Fisher, George (June) Fisher, Brenda (Lee) Stivale, Dorothy Campbell (James) Kizer, Debbie (Mark) Winzenread and Judy Campbell.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
