EDINBURGH
Mattie “Lucille” Smith, 86, of Edinburgh, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at the Franklin United Methodist Community.
She was born April 6, 1929, in Brown County, to Raymond Fox and Susan (Snyder) Fox.
She married Bobby L. Smith on July 4, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1989.
She is survived by a son, John D. Smith, and a daughter, Bobbie L. (Trace) Powell, both of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Kelci Powell-Burton, Hannah Smith and Baylor Powell; and great-grandson, Bryer Emerson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Fox; and a sister, Jean Johns.
Over the years she worked as a caregiver for several families.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
