Whiteland Road exit temporarily closed with I-65 traffic shift

Southbound drivers will notice a new traffic pattern on Interstate 65 between Greenwood and Franklin starting Sunday.

The new pattern will have one southbound lane crossing onto the northbound side of the road, and the other southbound lane staying straight on I-65, starting south of the Greenwood exit.

To prepare for the traffic pattern change, one of the southbound lanes will be closed for an hour starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Starting at 10 p.m., the southbound lane that leads to the Whiteland Road exit ramp will be closed until about 2 a.m. Sunday, the news release said. Drivers will not be able to use the Whiteland Road exit from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday, but the State Road 44 exit in Franklin will be open.
