Mary Frances (Toby) Dawson

GREENWOOD

Mary Frances (Toby) Dawson, 78, was called to heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, surrounded by her loving children and family. She was a resident of Greenwood and a native of Tennessee.

Mary was born April 2, 1937, in Green County, Tennessee, to Connie and Laura J. (Witt) Toby.

She was married to the late Junior Dawson.

She retired from Cabinets by Nichols in Bargersville after 30 years of service.

She was a bear enthusiast and enjoyed collecting bears. She loved country and gospel music. Mary also loved spending time with her family.

Mary was the proud mother of six children who survive, Laura (Terry) Spencer of New Whiteand, Leonard “Pete” Dawson of Franklin, Samantha (Tim) Beecham of Whiteland, Kathy (Larry) Cook of Nineveh, Mary Lou Miller and Danny Dawson, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Maggie Carter of Tennessee and Carolyn Dawson of Nevada; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Armittie French of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; one sister; grandson, Steven Beecham; and granddaughter, Ashley Beecham

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31 with visitation from 5 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
