Thomas R. Pauszek

GREENWOOD

Thomas R. Pauszek, 89, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Greenwood Village South.

He was born in South Bend on June 11, 1926, to John A. and Hedwige B. Pauszek.

He graduated from South Bend Central High School and attended Notre Dame University briefly before joining the Army Air Corp, where he served as tail gunner on the B29 during World War II. He graduated from IU and IU Dental School and practiced dentistry from 1957 to 1991, mostly in the Greenwood area. During retirement, Tom volunteered at Health Net and Gennesaret dental clinics and enjoyed working part-time for Hertz Auto Rental and Orchard Golf Course.

Tom was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Church, where he served as Eucharistic minister and usher for many years.

He was a member of the Columbus/Greenwood Chordlighters barbershop chorus for 31 years.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen P. Roberts; and a brother, James W. Pauszek.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie D. Pauszek; daughters, Linda (Rex) Collins and Julie (William) Weinberg, and four grandchildren, Drew Collins, Whitney Collins, Addison Weinberg, and Jocelyn Weinberg.

Also surviving is a brother John Lyle Pauszek of Cincinnati.

A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday  at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335. S. Meridian St., Greenwood. Friends may visit from noon until the service time at the church.

Memorial Gifts may be made to Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church designated for St. Vincent de Paul.
