Louese C. Meredith

FRANKLIN

Louese C. (Limp) Meredith, 98, was welcomed in the loving arms of Jesus on Monday morning, Aug. 24, 2015. She was a 70-year resident of Franklin.

Louese was born in Birdseye on Sept. 11, 1916, the oldest of five children, with her parents being the late Otto and Nellie Mae (Jones) Limp Sr.

She was a 1935 graduate of Birdseye High School. During World War II, she worked at Noblitt–Sparks in Franklin as a spot welder and is recognized on the World War II Memorial in Washington for her service in the war effort.

She retired in 1980 from Western Electric in Indianapolis as an assembly worker after 26 years of service.

Louese was a life member of Western Electric’s Retirees, Outlook Pioneer Volunteer Club and the Pioneer Club.

Louese’s true love was to serve the Lord, and she was very active in her church. She was a 50-year member of the Gospel Assembly Church of Indianapolis. She served as the church’s librarian, helped prepare and serve church dinners, worked in the nursery and served as an usherette.

Other memberships include being a 67-year member of Franklin Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens Center.

At 92, she gave up bowling and playing in two senior leagues, the Silver Streaker Bowlers and the Tuesday Morning Senior Bowlers, both of Hi-Way Lanes in Franklin.

Louese was an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers, enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens.

She leaves behind her son, William J. “Bill” (Mary) Meredith of Morgantown; a brother, Jerry Limp of Franklin; and grandchildren, Rob (Annette) Meredith of Belleville, Illinois, and Jamie (Angela) Meredith of Morgantown. Louese will be remembered by her great-grandchildren, Brad Meredith of Oklahoma City, Tyler Meredith of Belleville, Illinois, and Hunter and Gracee Meredith, both of Morgantown.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Madonna Jo Meredith; and siblings, Harold, Otto Jr. and Garold Limp.

The Rev. Cullen Reed will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
