5 Things: Music at the Creek

Organizers of an annual music event at a school are looking for vendors and participants.

Music at the Creek will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at Indian Creek High School, 803 Indian Meadows Drive, Trafalgar.  The event is organized by the NHJ Education Foundation.

Here is what Lisa Mahan, treasurer of the foundation, said about the event.

The event includes live music and other entertainment all day, open class car show, food and vendor booths, Farmer Olympics, bounce house, fire and safety demonstrations, bike rodeo (free bike helmet for kids), horse rides, and prizes. New this year is a 5K run/2.5K walk/2.5K kids race. The run will begin at 10 a.m.

What is the deadline for registration?

Deadline for vendor registration is Sept. 25, and there is no deadline for car show or run registration.

How many people can register for booths or cars?

No limit. The first 100 cars registered for the car show will receive a dash plaque. The first 50 people registered for the run will receive a t-shirt.

Where does the money from the event go?

All money raised goes to fund classroom grants for teachers and students at Indian Creek (Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson schools).

How did you get the idea for the event?

The event started four years ago as the primary fundraiser for the foundation. We continue to add new things each year to make the event bigger and better.
